Wacky Wins His Maiden

After showing some positive signs early in his racing career Wakayama came back form a spell with an encouraging 1st up run at Mornington. In what looked a suitable race over 1310mtrs at Ararat on the 20th November 2009 for his second run this preparation, Wakayama with Fabian Alesci aboard was able to dictate his own terms in front, then fought off a late challenge to win by 0.3 lengths in only his sixth race start.
